Oklahoma has long been synonymous with Bingo. This is because the Native tribes of Oklahoma have provided Bingo games for many years. Guests from every one of the neighboring states pile in trucks and visit Oklahoma to bet on Bingo for the weekends.
The 1988 Indian Gaming Regulatory Act became law after a benchmark decree by The U.S. Supreme Court just the prior year. Since that time, twenty three of the thirty nine Native bands located in Oklahoma have introduced gambling halls. The Chickasaw were the initial Oklahoma American Indian tribes to take advantage of the gambling laws, and today operate ten casinos of their very own. Bingo is the game on which the above-mentioned gambling halls were founded. Electronic games like one armed bandits were not authorized, due to the fact that they are believed to lead to gambling problems more than bingo.
In recent years, Oklahoma governing edicts have altered to permit gigantic Indian gaming gambling halls. You’ll now see American Indian casinos with slot machine games, video poker and twenty-one tables. Craps and roulette are not approved in the American Indian gambling dens as of yet, but that is only a matter of time. No one can say what having different gambling hall games in the bingo parlors will do for the popularity of bingo.
